Our Team

  • Dr Ravi Sankar

I am a senior clinical psychologist and psychological therapist with over 15 years NHS experience and currently work in private practice.

Most of us have experienced hardship. Have you been overwhelmed with what life has thrown at you? Do you easily overreact? I will help you to develop a deep understanding of your emotional problems, to learn what has made you stuck, and how to respond more flexibly to move forward. How we think makes a big difference to what we feel and then do. I treat many problems including anxiety disorders, PTSD and depression.

I deliver high quality treatments including CBT (I'm BABCP accredited), ACT, CFT and EMDR. These therapies help you to develop psychological flexibility.

We will work together to achieve your goals. I have supervised many psychotherapists and psychologists. I work with a variety of mental health problems and have accumulated a wealth of clinical experience.

I have learned the importance of self-reflection to become unstuck in my life. I’ll help you to live with purpose and use tangible tools to look after yourself. We will tackle the obstacles that are holding you back in a safe and confidential therapy space. Others say that I'm calm, attentive and approachable.

I hold the belief that we all have challenges and difficulties that occur in life. Sometimes we may need a bit of extra help with managing these difficulties and in finding solutions. I find it a privilege to be witness to the life stories that people may bring to therapy. I am a warm, calm, non-judgemental and open person and place great importance on building a safe and collaborative therapeutic space where exploration of any difficulties can take place.

I am experienced in a range of psychological difficulties, including; anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, phobias, sleep difficulties, anger, low self-esteem and relationship difficulties. I specialise in working with neurodivergence, including autism and ADHD and practice in a neurodiversity affirming way.

I offer an integrative approach, which involves working together to find out which approach fits best for each person. I draw on a range of therapeutic models, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), systemic and attachment informed approaches. During sessions there will be space for you to reflect upon and build on your strengths and resources at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
